A Message From The President
A Reorganization Meeting of the OCREA took place on Thursday, August 16, 2018at the OCCEA Office, Brick, New Jersey and recognized Officers and Members of the Executive Board for the 2018 – 2019 Year. They will all be recognized at the Luncheon/Meeting in October along with members of the subcommittees and the Women of the Wavelet.
Exciting challenges await us and we’re happy to share them with you; and, in the future, members of OCREA through our General Meetings, The Wavelet and timely email blasts via MailChimp.
The digital age has changed our lives, businesses, banking, food shopping, making vacation plans, sharing daily messages with family members, etc. Our children and grandchildren have been part of the changes and are more comfortable with them. Now, we have to make some adjustments in our lives in order to receive information and communicate with others. We’ve made adjustments before throughout our lives and professions so we are well versed in the sequence of events necessary to make changes.
The active teachers, para-professionals, bus drivers, secretaries, cafeteria workers, administrators, coaches, students, school nurses, maintenance personnel, and people in all other school positions have been gradually introduced to the changes and are completely immersed in them.
We are unable and don’t want, to stop progress. Remember that trite saying: He who hesitates, is lost? Well, it is time to get on board. Our County is one of the last to use MailChimp and the many parts of it which are being provided to us for free by NJEA. NJEA’s Communication Department has been working with us this summer and has made wonderful and progressive suggestions to our core committee to highlight our publications. The entire Executive Board and other key people will be in-serviced gradually.
Thank you all for your membership, involvement and continued support of all of us that work for your benefit. Have a wonderful year!
