Our 2018-19 trips promise experiences that are both interesting and entertaining. Enjoy new sights and experiences, as well as good food with family, friends, and fellow educators.
Remember, seats are assigned on a first come basis, and no refunds can be made in fewer than 30 days of the trip date. Trips are open to members and their family and friends traveling with the member. Payment in full is required for day trips; multi-day trips require a minimum $100 deposit per person.

2018 - 2019 Trips
Sept. 19 Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust
As the third largest Holocaust museum in the world and the second largest in North America, MJHNYC is committed to educating visitors about Jewish life before, during, and after the Holocaust. Our visit includes the limited-run presentation “Auschwitz. Not Long Ago. Not Far Away.”, which will open in New York on May 8th, the anniversary of VE Day, 1945 after a successful run at Madrid’s Arte Canal Exhibition Centre where it drew more than 600,000 visitors. This largest exhibition on Auschwitz features over 700 original objects and 400 photographs never before seen in the U.S. including hundreds of personal items as well as an original German-made Model 2 freight wagon used for deportation of Jews to ghettos and death camps, fragments of an original barrack from the Auschwitz III-Monowitz camp, and Picasso’s Lithograph of Prisoner. Luncheon at Carmine’s is included. $105 pp.
Oct. 15 - 18 Vermont, the Green Mountain State
As it trades its green coat for the beauty of fall’s crimson, gold and red, Vermont beckons you to explore its unique sights and flavors.

Vermont Country Store – family owned & operated for over 100 years, it’s a journey to the general store of yesteryear. As purveyors of practical & hard-to-find merchandise, the Orton family offers a huge selection of quality merchandise.
Rock of Ages Granite Quarry – tour the quarry & factory, learn about the making of the National WW II Memorial & receive a piece of the same granite used in the memorial. Over the weekend of April 6 - 7, Rock of Ages delivered 6 monoliths weighing between 13 & 17.8 tons to the 9/11 Memorial Glade in NYC which will honor those who are sick or have died from 9/11 related illnesses caused by exposure to toxins in the aftermath of the attacks.
Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory Tour – learn the manufacturing process & taste the delicious samples in this very successful ice cream business begun by two childhood friends with a $5.00 correspondence course.
Von Trapp Family Lodge – still owned & operated by the children of Maria Von Trapp, matriarch of the famous Trapp Family Singers. Relax over a delicious buffet luncheon, featuring Austrian pastries, in the lodge dining room surrounded by family pictures & memorabilia.
Danforth Pewter – jewelry, oil lamps, holiday ornaments, & pieces for the kitchen & home are just some of the handmade items made of 100% lead-free fine pewter since 1755 in Middlebury.
Vermont Marble Museum – the largest marble display from around the world. Learn about the industry, see a sculptor at work, visit the Hall of Presidents, & learn the story of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which was carved in Proctor.
Lake Champlain Gourmet Chocolates – taste what The New York Timescalls “some of the best chocolate in the country.” Lots of factory seconds!
Cabot Cheese – voted “The Best Cheddar in the world.” Sample their entire selection of award-winning cheeses, stock up on some of Vermont’s best specialty food products, including salsas, mustards, jams, smoked meats, maple syrup, & hot sauces.
Billings Farm and Museum – regarded as one of the finest outdoor history museums in the country. At this fully-operating dairy farm you will meet their award-winning Jersey cows, draft horses, & sheep, explore the restored 1890 Farm Manager’s House, & sample some of Billings Farm cheddar.
Quechee Gorge – better-known as Vermont’s “Little Grand Canyon.” It is one of New England’s most popular natural wonders with over 200,000 yearly visitors.
